What to include when you ask for a fabric quotation
An incomplete brief is the most common reason a quotation is slow. The information a fabric enquiry actually needs is short, and it can all be gathered up front.
The technical fields
Fibre composition, yarn count where relevant, knit construction, target weight, usable width, colour reference and finish. Without those seven, what you get back is an estimate, not a quotation.
The commercial fields
Quantity per colour, total lot, target delivery window and Incoterm. Colour count and total quantity are read together: 1,000 kg across ten colours is not the same job as 1,000 kg in one.
Approval and test expectations
Say whether a sample is needed, which tests will be asked for, and what the destination market requires. These bear directly on the lead time.
